The Solar series of A1 and A0 copy bases are specifically designed and built for scanning the wide variety of maps, books and other documents found in archives and museums.

Whilst the Solar M Type cameras can be fitted to the motorised column, so can most other cameras with standard tripod fittings.

The motorised book cradle accommodates books up to 240mm thickness and can be wheeled into and out from its position on locking heavy-duty castors. Designed to minimise unnecessary handling of rare and ancient books the glass platen (scanner bed) slides back completely, exposing the book cradle and enabling pages to be turned without risk of bending and tearing. The cradle has two book platens that are independently protected with pressure current limiters. Each platen is individually controlled for gentle vertical movement to ensure the book is brought up very gently to the underside of the glass.
